Well it is that time again when I have the pleasure of creating something out of a design team package from the lovely Amanda of Random Arts Australia . I love this shop, the prices are great, the service is next to none, and here in Australia we struggle to get what the United States, UK and other countries have at their fingertips. Amanda makes it easy to get those craft supplies that are not readily available here in Australia.
My design this month is called Inspire / Regrowth from the tragic fires we have had here in Australia. I resisted the urge to use the reds and oranges of fire and decided to go with the greens, blues, beige's and cream to show regrowth... And this is what I came up with and how I created it...
All the products used in this spread were purchased from Random Arts Australia and the very helpful Amada...
I then used a couple of different stencils using Finnabair Texture Paste
I then covered it all with Dylusions Paints rubbing the paint of the raised stencils to use wax a bit later on.
I had a paper doily scrap so fashioned that into an oval / circle shape outlining it with some gauze. I lightly rubbed on some Tim Holts Distress Oxide Sprays to the gauze, it was too stark... and I then used another stencil with black gesso (also homemade) and rubbed on some waxes to parts of the raised stencils.
I then started to embellish with butterfly die cuts, chipboard die cuts and Metal Objects... All from Random Arts Australia except for the butterflies... they are a purchased digital print.
I finished off the butterflies with Nuvo Drops.
Chipboard piece representing the sun and a little butterfly...
So here it is...
The circle is the light to which all the surrounding elements have emerged victorious after such devastating fires and the new regrowth of a beautiful flower...
Inspire / Regrowth...
I really hope you enjoyed this walk through of how my mysterious mind works. I look forward to my next guest project for RandomArts.com.au
Thank you for looking, Hugs Sass.
